The Stowasser Laboratory at the University of Queensland, Australia MS focuses on the pathogenesis and management of hypertension, especially of endocrine varieties including primary aldosteronism. His internationally recognized clinical research group has made seminal contributions to understanding how steroids and dietary salt affect blood pressure. His group uses a meticulous, state-of-the-art clinical phenotyping approach to elucidate the genetics and pathogenesis of hypertension, and to develop new strategies for the diagnosis and treatment of the disease.
