Welling Lab
Website
The Welling Laboratory at Johns Hopkins University, Departments of Medicine and Physiologyin Baltimore, MD explores salt balance, hypertension and kidney disease from molecule to man. His internationally recognized laboratory discovers the genes, pathways and mechanisms that define the physiology of potassium-sodium balance and that drive electrolyte disorders andhypertension. They combine modern methods of molecular genetics, genomics, cellular biology, and biochemistry with state-of-the-art physiological and imaging techniques in genetically engineered mice, and translational studies in human subjects to move genetic discoveries to mechanistic understandings of electrolyte transport physiology, hypertension and kidney disease.
